38th Cooper Bridge Run

Adam Decker - Sunday, April 12, 2015

Hey there everybody.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks since one of the greatest shows Spaceship Days has ever been a part of.

In the midst of working on a new album, a new reorganization of what we want, and self-intergalactic mediation of the soul, we ventured down to Charleston SC for a day filled with music and 40,000 people. It is quite a powerful feeling to have one side of a massive bridge to yourself and what new music to show! We were able to share Saving the Universe with 40,000 people marching up the giant mountain that is the Cooper River Bridge.

Good fortune also came our way this year. Because of your help, we won the contest to be able to play at the top of the bridge! We were able to help the runners start their descent downward, onward!

It was the first true moment that this reconfiguration of Spaceship Days has been able to share each other's time without letting the normal everyday get in the way of our music. It was a stress free moment. These are special times because each of us have a full life without the music want to share. This spark of success has rejuvenated the band movement.

And we crammed 3 of the shows into about 30 hrs. It was hard, it wasn't always fun, but it was making music and watching reactions to that music being made. That is the driving force of why we will continue to write music as this band.

We want to thank Becca Finley and the whole Cooper River Bridge run team for letting us be a part of their success. There was a true moment at the end of the Bridge Run show:We are we're getting yelled at to "get off the bridge", and there I was, lying on my back on a flatbed truck holding our mixer, looking at the clouds and the beautiful Charleston sky, feeling a moment of magnificent and serene accomplishment. I haven't felt like that since my a cappella days.

In that moment I was so thankful for all the support of our fans. We keep setting tough goals, and continue shattering them.

On this micro tour, we learned a couple things:

1 – Sleeping is for the dead.

2– In–getting is becoming a reality.

3 – We can move the masses 40,000 strong and we can help every step of the way.

We're here for you, and will continue to do what we do.

Just got turned on to you guys a few minutes ago. I'm sure you've heard this a lot but your music is incredible. Struck the right nerve in the first second. I truly hope you gain world recognition because you deserve it. Your RN page is going to be a regular stop for me. Much love and luck guys!
